Wedge Golf ("Wedge," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Wedge Golf mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, username, and optional profile photo. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information from those services.

Golf Data

We collect round scores, hole-by-hole data, shot locations (GPS coordinates during play), club information, handicap data, and course details. If you link your GHIN account, we import your handicap index and posting history.

Location Data

With your permission, we collect precise location data during active rounds to provide GPS shot tracking and distance calculations. We also use general location to find nearby golf courses. Location is only collected while the App is in use.

Device Information

We automatically collect device type, operating system version, and app version for analytics and troubleshooting.

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App
  • Calculate handicap indices and round statistics
  • Enable social features (following, feeds, discovery)
  • Facilitate matches, tournaments, and wagering features
  • Send push notifications (match updates, invites, scores)
  • Process payments through Stripe for premium features
  • Post scores to GHIN on your behalf when authorized
  • Respond to support requests

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:

  • Other users: Your profile, rounds, and stats may be visible to users who follow you or participate in matches with you
  • Service providers: We use Firebase (authentication, push notifications, analytics), Stripe (payments), and Google Cloud Platform (hosting and data storage)
  • GHIN/USGA: When you choose to post scores, we transmit your round data to the GHIN system
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), secure cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, and Firebase Authentication for identity management. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below. Some data may be retained as required by law.

You have the right to:

  • Request deletion of your data

Children's Privacy
